How Dual-Chart Comparison Works

Zi Wei Dou Shu and BaZi are built on different machinery. ZWDS places over a hundred stars into twelve life palaces; BaZi reads eight characters through the Five Elements and Ten Gods. Comparing both for the same two people shows the same relationship from two angles.

What the four readings cover

  • Day Master - the core element of each person, and how the two elements generate, control, or mirror each other.
  • Five-Element Bureau - the ZWDS rhythm each chart runs on, and whether the two rhythms support each other.
  • Life Palace branches - whether the palaces harmonize (Six Harmony), share a trine, face each other in opposition, or sit unaligned.
  • Anchor stars and Spouse Palace - the archetype each chart leads with, and the lens through which each person experiences partnership.

When the two systems agree

Where ZWDS and BaZi point the same direction, the signal is strong. Where they differ, each system adds a dimension - the stars color the palaces, the pillars set the rhythm. Read them together, not in competition.
