The Heavenly Stem of your day pillar is your Day Master. This is the single most important character in your chart — it represents your core self, your default nature, the element that is fundamentally you.
Your Day Master is not your personality. It is your raw material — the substance that precedes personality, the element that everything else in your chart relates to.

The Ten Gods: Your Relationship With the World
Output, Wealth, Authority, Resources, Peers
The Ten Gods are not literal deities. They are archetypes — descriptions of the relationship between your Day Master and the other seven characters in your chart. Each character relates to your Day Master in one of five ways (in yin or yang polarity, yielding ten total):
- Output — self-expression, creativity, communication, what you produce and give to the world
- Wealth — relationship with resources, earning, possession, and what you value
- Authority — discipline, career, pressure, leadership, and how you respond to structure
- Resource — learning, support systems, knowledge, mentorship, and what nourishes you
- Companion — peers, competition, collaboration, and self-identity in relation to others
How Ten Gods Interact
None of these exist in isolation. A strong Output star without supporting Resource can mean a person who generates ideas endlessly but struggles to sustain them. The Five Elements in BaZi
